My post-graduation lunch was supposed to be at Spiral (Sofitel) but we weren't in the mood to pig out/attack the buffet. Instead of suffering from a food coma that afternoon, I dragged the fam to Chelsea Market Cafe since I was craving for my favorite sandwich...

Graduation day!

Finally graduated with a cap and gown yesterday. I'm forever grateful to DLS-CSB for the scholarship and was surprised that my CGPA actually got me honors. Dad thought it was funny said that I would've done better if I actually kept track of my grades and "partied less". I guess I was too caught up with just having fun in a huge school, being busy with choir during the first two years (it served as my extra-curricular activity as required by the scholarship) and trying to do music with my sister. CSB was such a fun experience and I was actually sad that I didn't get to take all of my interior design subjects there... I freakin loved the SDA building and made tons of friends there!

Thank you to all those who congratulated me through Twitter, texts and Facebook!!! And thank you to Fiamma Stereostatic Saturdays again for the grad party :)

I think I've managed to out-party myself during the first few weeks of 2012, having the first big celebration during Sinulog weekend in Cebu and then following up the next few weeks with random night-outs with friends here in Manila (people have been greeting me since Sinulog weekend!). I felt like it was too much for me to hold another birthday celebration here, but the promoters at Fiamma were kind enough to host my birthday last Saturday. This made me try my best to pass on text messages to some friends about the last-minute plans of my 22nd bday bash just a day before the party. It was pretty funny how I felt like the universe really wanted to me to celebrate. There's really nothing else I want for my birthday after being showered with too much blessings ever since I've graduated from PSID...

My CSB graduation is up next and then the construction for my new flat begins... These past couple of months have made me realize that I haven't been shooting for the stars. Why do I feel contented with the slightest accomplishments lately? I feel that living in a smaller town during my teenage years had me aiming for shallow things, which turned out to be easy to attain with just a bit of patience and effort.

It's been 5 years since I've moved in with my dad here in Manila and I've been more than thankful for all the people I've met and the opportunities I've been given. A lot has been linked to this blog and I really want to thank everyone who's been reading this online diary since I've started it!!! Been gathering some small knick-knacks for my first blog giveaway and for hitting 3,000 on Twitter before 2012 (I wished for it during mid-2011 and was surprised that it came true).

This year I'm pushing myself even harder to actually do something more significant in my life. Hitting 22 has slightly made me question my sense of urgency, career-wise. Nonetheless, I'm really thankful for so many things. Being able to breathe and actually notice so many of the things I'm lucky to have has been a lot easier after being freed of the toxic schedules I had last year.

I know I'm not the most diligent blogger in the world, but I'm glad I have so many great memories to look back on because of this little corner I have in cyberspace. Thank you for all the well-wishes and greetings, friends! Happy birthday to my dad as well!

I decided to join the parade this year with the beau and took 2 of my guests (Nini + Jen) with me while Pia, Paolo, Sam and my sister went to Baseline for the street party. I really can't decide which one is better but I sure had A BLAST this year! I can't even remember taking half of the photos in my camera. We were dancing in the streets for about 7 hours that day til we reached the grand stadium. We had dinner at Mr. M then I went home to change for my gig at Outpost that night. Congratulations again to IPI for winning the best float category this year! Paulo always shows me the progress of their float each time I visit their factory and looking at the finished product just makes me smile. It was so pretty this year with the fairytale theme.

Started off my Sinulog weekend by taking my guests island-hopping through the Islands Banca Cruises. As soon as we saw the boat we got SO excited. The girls kept shouting "This is soooo much fun!" on our way to Pandanon and Gilutungan Island since the waves were big that day and that made the ride a bit more interesting.

I originally booked the Bariles boat (15-20 pax) but when we arrived they upgraded us to the biggest boat (Butanding, 30-35 pax) with no additional charge!!! Nini even wanted to bring the entire boat to Batangas with her- being on it was just so relaxing. My mom also brought some lechon, 2 kinds of pasta, wine, beer and some crisps for our trip and that just made everything perfect.

This was such an awesome way to kick-start Sinulog 2012! We all can't wait for our next boating trip and we want to take more people next time. :)

*surprise, I eat fish now! I just couldn't take it- I've been craving ever since I turned vegetarian 3 years ago. So far it's been doing me good, it's just that I have to be picky & only eat it in moderation. Maybe I'll even get back to being a strict vegetarian when I move out in a couple of months.

I was obviously not in the mood to dress up.

Really enjoyed our first katsu experience at Yabu! It's actually the first authentic Katsu restaurant in the Philippines and we're definitely going back with the rest of the family. The servers are nice & attentive, the concept is interesting and of course the food's great! It's no wonder why people really line up to get tables.

I surprised my friends last night by wearing jeans out. I hardly ever wear jeans nowadays because of the weather, but last Monday I was able to score a good pair from the new Miss Sixty store at Robinsons Manila. I love the fit so much and it balances out the bagginess of the top that I decided to wear since I wanted a more relaxed outfit during dinnertime.

I love the zipper detail at the back- you can keep them open if you like, depending on the type of shoes you're wearing.

Bachelors-Femina charity ball + Cebu

I was invited to participate in the Bachelors-Femina Innocence Day Ball at the Casino Español de Cebu last December 28. Bachelors-Femina is a socio-civic club for unmarried members of the “crème de la crème” of Cebu Society. The girls and I modeled creations made by famous Cebuano designers and we also had to perform the Rigodon de Honor. The event was for the benefit of the Hands of Mercy and Asilo De La Milagrosa. It was definitely loads of fun and it was great seeing my friends dressed to the nines in traditional Filipino attire! Thank you so much to Dexter Alazas for letting me wear your creation!

I had to tiptoe cos my 13-year-old brother's taller than me already.

I pretty much got what I wanted for Christmas, but my favorite has to be my new Olympus 45mm f1.8 lens! It's the equivalent to a 90mm lens for the regular-sized DSLR and it's great for street style photography.

My siblings and I got sick as soon as we arrived in Hong Kong and it worsened because of the weather. The temperature dropped to 9˚C and it was quite windy, so my allergies were pretty bad. Didn't shop too much but I guess that's a blessing in disguise since the clothes on sale were all for winter anyways.

Our Christmas dinner consisted of free cake from the hotel and packed meals from 7/11- including cup noodles, spaghetti and some sushi... We were all full from eating during the day so I guess we didn't need a traditional noche buena. Was just super happy to be with the family and under the thick comforters during my sick spell.

Flying to Cebu tomorrow for the Bachelors Femina ball rehearsals, dress fittings + the actual event. I can't wait to see my friends and my beau!

The DAS sisters got me to shoot their entire collection since they're launching their new official webpage soon... We decided to take a couple of fun portraits right after. Issa dropped by as well, and we were all chatting away during the shoot. It's always so much fun when these girls are around!

I tweeted the night before that I needed someone to help me with the lighting. This was the first time I had to set up lights by myself and I had no other choice but to resort to.... YouTube tutorials. Thankfully I just had to do the most basic set-up and I could remember a couple of things from previous shoots with other photographers. I guess it was really time for me to do it on my own.

I was able to see my cousins who flew in from Malaysia for the holidays + got together with my aunts and uncles for some afternoon wine and tapas before heading to church at 2ND's to lead worship with Riz. We sang a couple of Christmas songs and this was paired with free servings of hot cocoa and ensaymada for everyone. Totally feeling the Christmas spirit now but mum and I haven't even shopped for gifts yet... Also did our last gig for the year at the 2 Serendra Christmas party which was hosted by CIE's (my HS alma mater) president before heading to Heat at Shangri-la for some more wine with the fam. I stared at my brother and cousins devour some Japanese food and dessert from the tastiest-looking buffet--I can't believe I've never been to that restaurant before!

Looking forward to Christmas in Hong Kong and spending New Year's Eve with the Cabrera clan complete!

I just wanted to post a self-portrait after getting treatments from Skin 911 during my most recent visit to Cebu. My friend Jennifer owns the clinic and she was kind enough to let me try some of their services for free. My mom also got a couple of treatments and so far we love it!!! They're at a temporary location in Banilad but will be moving to a place near SM Cebu early next year. They have non-invasive slimming treatments as well as skin pampering treatments at very affordable rates!

I don't think I've updated my makeup routine too much. I use products I trust, and believe me when I say that the more expensive powders (blush, pressed powder, bronzer) and concealer last me a long time! My Chanel powder lasted me 7 months plus my blush & bronzer's pans aren't even showing yet. I bought all of them at the same time (last trip to Singapore)

My favorite mascaras would be Dior's Diorshow mascara or Chanel's Inimitabe Mascara but I just can't afford to splurge on things that dry out so quickly.

Urban Decay's 24/7 glide-on pencil in Zero is my holy grail liner and it's proven to be the one that stays put the longest as compared to all the other brands I've tried. It goes on creamy but stays put the whole day. It's too bad none of the stores in Manila carry Urban Decay makeup... I have to get my stash from Singapore or America.

Issa and Ria are obsessed with this restaurant. Riz and I went with them right after Bloggers United but I decided not to eat since it was late and I wasn't hungry. The owner of the place, Alain, gave us some red rice sake so I decided to give those a try. Sake goooood.

I'm going back to this place soon. It's just at my best friend's condo (Elizabeth Place) at 332 HV dela Costa Street, Salcedo Village Makati. The place isn't that big but the interiors are really nice! I'll write a post about their bestsellers.

My photos are crap compared to the ones I took at the first Bloggers United bazaar, but that's only because we were inside an enclosed & huge sports gym that used white light (yellow light is the more flattering kind, you can mix it with white but at gyms it's not advisable to have those since you have to see every move during sports). The venue was just right because the crowd was WAY bigger compared to the last BU!

I still have some bruises as souvenirs of her alcohol-induced honesty/brutality.

I had to see it for myself! I dragged Riz to take my photo at the store after performing at the activity center. It took her about 10 minutes to successfully take this photo without blur and bits and pieces of people's heads in the frame. There was a guy who just observed us while we laughed our heads off and it took him the same amount of time to ask Riz "is that her on the window?" I will take it as a sign that I've successfully baked my skin 2 shades darker.

As much as I want to post my photos from the 2nd Bloggers United bazaar, I am stopping myself from doing so because I'm not contented with them! I left my massive collection of Photoshop actions on my iMac so I hate all my photos right now (I was in a hurry to edit them). I'm in Cebu til the weekend and uploading my content on 3G just makes everything so pixelated.
Will be back in Manila this Sunday! I'm in Cebu since our family biz is involved in two expos here. Riz and I also had to perform from Monday til Wednesday for the CIE trade fair. This trip has been so good for me but I think I am still craving to taste a bit of the bum life after college.

I just can't finish everything today since my sister and I will be performing in a few hours for the TOMS Give Fair and then flying to Cebu right after that. Graduation!

Finally graduated from PSID last November 18! I have another graduation for DLS-CSB on February 2012 (cap + gown involved, yay!). People wonder why some of us are having two graduations, and this is because the CSB curriculum requires us to take minors in CSB before taking our majors in PSID... This means we have a diploma from PSID for Interior Design and a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design degree from CSB.

You can't take the board exams unless you have a degree in Interior Design. Some of my classmates have taken their minors from previous courses already so they can take the licensure exam, too.

I can't believe I'm done with college! I still crave for the classroom setup so maybe I'll be taking another course after the board.

I can't express how thankful I am to Benilde and to PSID for my scholarship. Never planned to apply for one and until now I'm so thankful that my parents raised me to LOVE learning. To be able to study at the top institutions of our country [for my field] for free is totally amazing. La Salle gives out so many scholarships each year and I'm so glad that they give amazing opportunities to so many students. If you're interested in any of their courses, keep your grades up in high school, top the entrance exams and really invest time in your extra-curriculars-- you might just be eligible for the Benildean Excellence in Scholastics and Talent scholarship! With this comes a stipend for each term you keep your grades up but you also have to be a leader in a school org (I chose Coro San Benildo in Benilde and became an officer for our batch in PSID). If you think you don't meet the qualifications for this type of scholarship, you can still apply for financial assistance and tons of other scholarships listed here.

I've learned so much from CSB and PSID and I really can't complain. Studying interior design's probably one of the hardest things I've had to go through, but I've had so much fun along the way!!! I can't even express how much physical, mental and (most esp.) emotional sh*t I've had to go through. Haha!

I wouldn't have survived the sleeplessness without all the fun I've had blogging, going to events, doing odd jobs, making music, gaining friends, choir (during my first few years in Benilde), photo shoots, traveling, and of course having to digest the wise words of my parents. I love them.

And even if all my friends constantly remind me of how much I'm killing myself doing so much all at once, I love them for the laughs, for helping me strengthen my faith and for reminding me that I can survive anything because I am a robot like that.

AAAAHHHH I'm done, I still can't believe it!

It's time to work even harder.

My eyes were SO red during the shoot. I had to switch to my glasses right after since I had allergies again. Patanol and a week's rest from contacts will do the trick. (my wooden frames are from Trilogy Boutique)

Oh, and that thrifted jacket & American Eagle tank top are probably the most overused items on my closet! I love repeating clothes that are super comfy.

My sister and I caught up to our cousins and friends at the Riviera for a [late] Thanksgiving.

I missed this house! Summered here a lot back in high school. We also celebrated Christmas & New Year's here a couple of times.

Alecsandra and I- the youngest + oldest among the Cabrera cousins (she's 9 and I'm 21). Funny how we're the ones who end up hanging out with each other during gatherings.

The day after we arrived from Camiguin, we drove to Bukidnon to Dahilayan Adventure Park.

I was excited to try out the longest zip line in Asia!

The first one was just a teaser.

Pia was my buddy. She took a video of the first zip line.

As usual, I was super hyper and wanted to try out their huge play ground but the sign said only kids below 12 could use it :(

When we all arrived to the other side we had to go up the hill to ride the trolley to the other side of the park for the longest zip line in Asiaaaa.

Yes, we had to lay flat for the 2nd one! Super fun!!!

I took a video the entire time I was going down the zip line and luckily I discovered (while going down) that my E-P3 could take photos while on video mode!

Will post the video later. I don't know how to transfer the videos yet since it's not showing up on my iMac even when I access my card. Gotta read the cam's manual...

The view was BREATHTAKING. What an experience! I felt like I was flying and the feeling's way better than riding a rollercoaster- mostly because of the view plus you get to ride on your own without tons of people screaming all around you.

I still love rollercoasters for the adrenaline rush, though... And that sickening feeling in your gut.

We continued to view the rest of the park. My other friends tried the Zorbit while I took photos since only 6 were allowed for each batch of ATV riders. We signed waivers and had to sit through a briefing.

This was my first time to ride an ATV and I really want one now!

It was more or less a 45-minute ride around the park/mountains. The roads were so bumpy and steep and we only stopped to pose at the top of the hill. (photo grabbed from Pia)

As much as people would refuse to believe, I pack light when I travel. That means I end up panicking since I never have enough things for outfits and I have to buy clothes when I suddenly have to attend something not so casual...

For this trip I traveled with MISMATCHED TOMS. Yeap. I was such in a hurry during my flight that I ended up grabbing the black canvas TOMS and paired it with my slate vegan TOMS. It's not so obvious when you look at it from afar but I discovered they were mismatched when I took them off at the airport and the lining was different... You won't really notice the difference in the color of the fabric and soles until you look at it closely.

I ended up buying black Crocs since all the basic closed shoes I wanted in SM weren't available in my size.

They're alright but I'm not a fan of rubber flats since they're so squeaky. They're really comfortable, though.

Happy they had strawberries since the place reminded me so much of Baguio, but these just weren't as sweet.

I was craving for super leafy & organic "probinsya"-style veggies throughout the entire trip.

We had dinner at Candy's since the girls wanted to make the most out of my last night in Cagayan de Oro.

I had a huge plate of Greek Salad. We all loved the food so it's no wonder why this restaurant is famous.

Had drinks at Yuri's and proceeded to Wat Ever where we met up with some friends.

I'm surprised I managed to get up 2 hours after getting knocked-out! I had to travel alone with a splitting headache...

Excited to buy my first pair of TOMS eyewear!

A different sole for the TOMS they hand out to children in need.

The kids in Smokey Mountain really benefit from this one because of how muddy the contaminated grounds can get whenever it rains in their area. (will blog about my previous visits to Smokey Mountain soon)
Since children's feet grow really fast, they give out new pairs every 6 months. How cool is that?

Recently, TOMS has extended their one for one range to eyewear by helping people get their sight back for every pair of sunnies you purchase!

I was so excited about this when they sent out their newsletter because I come from a family with bad eyesight, and it pains me to see my grandparents suffer from degenerative eye conditions. I think my sister and I complain so much on Twitter on how sometimes it's just so frustrating to live with really bad vision (my grade is only -3.00 but my sister's is -5.00 and getting worse). I have to deal with getting constant headaches, losing my contacts, breaking my glasses, getting my contacts ripped, etc. and these are just tiny problems compared to people suffering from more serious eye conditions without getting any aid. All I'm saying is, it's costly and such a big burden even for people who can afford proper eye care so it is a big deal that TOMS has recognized the need and has focused on helping people in getting back their sight.

Watch this and you will definitely want to get their sunglasses as your next pair. If you can afford expensive brands, why not buy a pair from TOMS?

Posh Nails recently opened a new branch at Venice Mall, McKinley Hill Piazza (Taguig) and I was one of the bloggers they invited to try out their services. I wasn't able to join the rest of the bloggers for a huge nail spa party because of my schedule so I went there alone last November 2.

I chose not to take photos inside because it was packed that day-- that's enough proof that they're doing really well-- so I guess y'all just have to pay the branch a visit!

I chose the "Posh Spoiling" package which involved a manicure and pedicure, plus foot and hand spa... It was the best way to start my month since I haven't had the chance to get my nails done & I've been doing them on my own during the course of our exhibit (October).

What I loved about their service was that the place remained really quiet even if it was full of people, the nail technicians took their time and the scrub they used on me smelled like candy and butter combined. I seriously wanted to eat it! It was super relaxing and I was pleased with the result. I'm very OC about my nails. I'm glad there were no bubbles, streaks and they were shaped just the way I liked them.

They have tons of colors available and they carry the best brands of polish so you don't have to worry about that...

The interiors are colored in quirky pinks and purples, plus they have really comfortable sofas for every guest. They also have 2 private rooms. Expect the staff to be super friendly and accommodating. :)

This is actually an old purchase from Urban Outfitters at San Francisco but I can't stop browsing through the photos and reading about the lifestyles of different artists! Their homes sort of give you an idea of their creative process.

Getting to know Annie + a book on small spaces (trying to draw more inspiration for the one-bedroom condo unit I'll be moving into) + yet another book about color harmony for layouts

To me, the next best thing to traveling is reading.

I love taking my mind to different places & getting to know the lives of different faces.
Plus nowadays, books are pretty enough to serve as decorative things around your home! Will definitely have a nice library in my new place!

i have a new weapon

I asked Chai to model for me yesterday for Skinny Sweets. We used one booth at our exhibit and this is her doing makeup at our booth. Thankfully we were assigned to a bathroom-- well-lit vanity, yes! I wasn't able to snap photos when Essa arrived with our stylist and other model but we pretty much used the entire room for makeup & wardrobe changes.

I met Chai at a photo shoot for What A Girl Wants last year and only got to talk to her when we both modeled for a fashion show of the same campaign a week after that. She surprised everyone at the show because she walked in with a pixie cut! That was also the same time I was sporting a faux-hawk.

The only short-haired girls at the show :))

Now we're both growing out our hair and she considers that her awkward length even if that's the length I want to achieve.

She's based in Manila now and she works for the MAC counter at Rustan's (Glorietta). She's actually a registered nurse but she's trying to pursue her passion of becoming a makeup artist (she's just waiting to get certified by MAC). She's also modeled for a few things here and got accepted at 2 of the biggest agencies but she can't do it full-time because of work. She discussed to me her frustrations about the modeling industry here and I sort of expressed how a lot of models would've killed to get the opportunities she's been getting. I'm just really proud of her for chasing her dreams! GO CHAI! :)

After the photo shoot I rushed back to Rockwell to get some materials for our team's game for the exhibit's closing party that night. I also stopped by the Global Pinoy Bazaar to claim my new pair of DAS shoes.

The girl selling accessories was also a Cebuana and she was telling me how pretty the shoes were. She actually wanted to get 5 styles from DAS that day, too!

Lemme tell you, they are insanely comfortable because the platform's made really well and they're cushioned like all their other styles.

I love this pair since the style is pretty classic but it has a twist behind it.

Killer heels indeed! I'm sure I can't wear these out clubbing cos I might leave everyone bleeding, but they are so pretty and they make my legs look miles long!

Oh and friends, please be careful about fake accounts claiming to be the owners of DAS. Neeresh and Sureen handle all the orders and accounts themselves and they told me about people contacting them after paying to another person with a fake receipt. It's always a big risk to establish your business online. Some people even grab photos from DAS (that's why watermarks are so crucial) and when customers receive the package the product looks totally different since the photo isn't theirs in the first place. Order only through the contact details posted on their website/Facebook page!

I think I'm done with shoes til the year ends. I have to stock up on clothes now so I can set aside my old clothes for the 2nd Bloggers United Bazaar!!! DECEMBER 3- mark your calendars, guys! :)

Today I discovered my contacts were ripped so I had to wear my glasses out the whole day.

They're so heavy and I probably almost tripped thrice. Thick-rimmed glasses are cute but not practical especially when going down stairs. I can't even do something as simple as running/sprinting bec. super blurry vision messes with my balance on the treadmill!

But the camwhorage continues despite my blindness because I finally got my new Oly!

A lot of micro four thirds cameras are going back to that retro look, replicating film + cross-processed + pinhole effects. But I'm not complaining.

I love how photogenic each booth at our exhibit is!

Two weeks ago, Manila Bulletin's Jere De Mc Cuttac contacted me so they could have a shoot at Jak En Poy with models Danica Magpantay and Claire Unabia from ANTM cycle 10! I was so excited to see them werq. Thanks to Aisa (fellow blogger who styled this shoot with Jere) I got to meet them and I'm proud to show you the photos they've produced out of the shoot.

Halloweeners (part 2)

Together they made a great couple.

We all used colors from the Catwalk Cosmetics eyeshadow palette that Marj sent me. I love it! I even dabbed on a bit of red and pink on my lips after putting on some of Issa's lipstick.

A lot of people kept asking what we were supposed to be as a group, but all we wanted to do was sort of match each other and have super colorful hairdos! We were called a couple of things including Slutty Powerpuff Girls (umm we didn't have their colors *cough*), Anime Girls, Dolls, Harajuku Girls, etc.

We wanted to be bloody but sadly we didn't have enough time left. Ria and Issa were so distracted while doing makeup since their close friend Slater was on Big Brother along with Divine (another Cebuana). Issa's face was flashed on TV and I was laughing at her the whole time because of how excited she got!

Purchased our wigs, ribbons, socks and bows at the SM Department Store in Makati at about 6:00 that night and then sewed/glued everything together before doing makeup at Issa's condo.

I've forgotten how SM's made it super convenient for everyone by stocking up on just about everything in expansive floors (cue the musical motto "We've got it all for you!"). This is what happens when you're stuck in a coop doing plates & finishing your coursework for so long-- your world gets limited to snobby malls (with more parking slots), the nearest pharmacy, the nearest grocery that always seems to lack one or two items you're really picky about, and occasionally, the hair salon. Note to self- you are surrounded by at least 3 SMs in a 7-mile radius.

The place can get overwhelming if you accidentally visit during one of their crazy sales (I've witnessed a day wherein the crowd's worse than Divisoria) and last Saturday Iz and Ria did get dizzy from running around & trying to hunt down every single thing we needed with empty stomachs. I concentrated on channeling my hyper-ness to planning how my outfit & color scheme would look at the very last minute.

I'm not exactly contented with the doll-like makeup but it was melt-proof enough for us to survive the super crowded Halloween party at Republiq before heading to Robot to take some decent outfit photos. And umm... Issa and Ria didn't even go with the big-eyed look. :))

Oh, and I left my gun at the Resorts World entrance since they confiscated it. Boo.

I managed to buy a ton of cheap candy from the grocery after watching a few of the last shows at Philippine Fashion Week yesterday for the kids who were going Trick or Treating. Was able to snap some of the cute and more creative homemade costumes but most of the time we were all just gushing at how amusing the kids looked. They were just storming in and out of our booths!

I didn't get to dress up anymore since I had a major allergy attack that morning and was really in a hurry to get dressed for PFW. I just threw on whatever I thought was comfortable and sneeze-proof enough since I had to commute from San Juan to Mall of Asia and then back to SM North Edsa. Totally missed out on family day and church but nobody was going to man our booth.

I managed to kick my allergies in the butt and my Sunday turned out to be pretty chill.

My first costume this year wasn't homemade. I got the whole getup from a huge costume shop in New York last year but failed to use it since I went for a DIY thing instead.

I got my very first wig from Catwalk Cosmetics (thank you, Marj!) and was amazed at how the quality was so good even if it was pretty affordable. Delivery was free and the wig cap came with it, too.

Iz also got her costume from America but she had it altered to fit since it was a men's costume. Ria was totally cramming and luckily she found this workable costume at SM.

I have rediscovered my love for that department store and will explain further on my next post.

We totally need more Costume Cauldron-type of stores here!

what I do at the exhibit

We take turns in guarding our booth and I get to go thrice a week. I was obviously bored during my last shift since the visitors weren't asking questions about our design rationale and main materials anymore.

I took some photos before realizing that this may be the last time I'll be using my Lumix GF1.

Found decent and comfortable "walking shoes" at Pedro the other day. I needed a new pair for days when I have to run errands. I'm slowly trying to refrain from wearing TOMS everyday (but I still love them) since I'm no longer a uni/college girl. I love sandals with heels a bit higher than kitten heels (I could never wear those, they make me cringe).

I don't wear my sky-high heels on normal days since I'm a bit taller than the average Filipina and people get mad at me for wearing them. Plus of course, heels hurt when you have to walk/run/skip on the roads around here. I don't work in a carpet-laden office.

Yani was obviously bored, too. She gamely posed for me and did our "offering" pose, haha!
Sometimes I forget how nice the bokeh is from the 20mm pancake lens of the GF1.

Everyone loves the tall mirros in our booth. They're for sale (as well as our customized shelves) so contact me if you want to buy them!

Recently cleaned up my blog a bit since I was getting tired of looking at colorful badges and endless links at the sidebar. I think I've lost touch of why I started this in the first place-- it's a mere documentation of my life and everything I like. I've always wanted it simple.

What's new:

I basically just added pages on top that includes my long list of links, FAQs + redirecting links to my Twitter/Formspring.
My other blog posts have a "read more" option so all the photos don't have to load when you're on the main site, but I still have to fix the spacing before and after that link
I've also added a search box and a drop-down list of categories to get rid of the annoying cloud of tags that I had. I still have to edit the tags on each post since some of them are unnecessary (the ones that only have one post attached to them).
Still have to fix the space in between each post. I'm not satisfied with the crowding of the text.
As much as I want to edit the template, I can't let go of the all-white background and placement of the side bar on the right. I might change my banner if ever I take a decent monochromatic photo of myself. Or should I just make it a huge "raleene.com" header?

I'll stop right here since I don't want to badger you all with these things about the whole look of the site!

Anyways, I really just want to tell you all that I am trying to get myself to post better photos! I am hating myself for leaving my camera behind, but then again I've been really busy with school-related events that just keeps me from going around taking photos. I hope you all understand.

I am also excited about getting a new camera! My brother's getting my old micro 4/3s Lumix GF1 since he's taking photography lessons in school (I know, they offer it in my high school now. How unfair!) and he needs a "decent" one. I can't let go of my DSLR since it's my first baby and the my first purchase ever since I started earning when I first came here for college.

Thank God for online shopping! I can't wait to get my newest baby!
