FAQ

Who takes your photos?
I do a lot of self-portraits and I usually state whether a photo's been taken by another photographer or a friend.

What cameras do you use?
I currently own an Olympus PEN E-P3, Panasonic Lumix GF1, Nikon D80, and have 2 types of lenses for each (zoom & prime).
Sometimes I just use my iPhone or my dad's Canon Ixus.
Nobody seems to notice the difference because I edit all my photos.

Do you edit your photos?
Yes. I always edit the color, levels, saturation, shadows, etc. but of course it helps a lot to use the manual setting in your camera before all of that. It takes time to learn but you can certainly study up on your own.
I have to make sure my photos are done well since this blog promotes my photography (which is the reason why I started this blog in the first place).

Did you take photography lessons?
I attended 2 days of basic photography at the International Academy of Film & Television (year 2003), but learned everything else through practice shoots with other photographers here in Manila from 2007 onwards.

What program do you use to edit photos?
Adobe Photoshop CS3. I have a CS5 on my iMac but I'm too lazy to transfer all the Actions. I use a lot of those to edit photos.

Did you take a class for photo retouching/editing?
No.

Do you work/what's your profession?
I work as a photographer, interior designer (I'll be taking my licensure exam on Oct. 2012), industrial designer, and I am the director of Inca Plastics Philippines, Inc..
I also have small businesses under my corporation and I perform with my sister (Rizza) for our band called the Walkie Talkies
I am always open to tackle anything in the field of music and design.

Where are you from?
I was born in Cebu City but I am now based in Manila, Philippines.

Where did you study?
Centre for International Education Global Colleges (grade school til high school)
De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and Philippine School of Interior Design (BS-Interior Design)

What is your nationality/ethnicity?
Filipino

How tall are you?
5'6"

What is your natural eye color?
Light brown.

What is your natural hair color?
Brown, but I always have it dyed (with blue-black and light brown being my fave hair colors).

How bad are your eyes/what is your eye grade?
-3.00 on both eyes so I can never leave the house without my contacts or glasses on.

Who does your makeup?
I do my own makeup.

How did you learn to put on makeup/did you study makeup artistry?
I was always given the task to do makeup for our school productions in high school so I practiced through that. I learn all the tips and tricks from books, websites and YouTube makeup gurus.
My favorite gurus are Pixiwoo (Sam and Nic Chapman), Petrilude, AndreasChoice, Lisa Eldridge and Kandee Johnson. I also ask a lot of makeup artists about every single product during photo shoots.

Are you under an agency?
No. I've always been too shy to do VTRs or go-sees!

Do you ever sleep? (apparently people notice that I'm online almost 24/7)
Of course I sleep, but I am an insomniac (my mum has the same problem) and I love working at night. I have to get up and work early as well so that keeps me from sleeping during the day. I make up for it by sleeping during the weekends or when my body shuts down. I've tried all sorts of medicine but have come to accept that I just can't have a "normal" sleep schedule. Aside from my sleeping habits, I live a healthy lifestyle so I'm doing my best to fix that problem.

What dialects/languages can you speak?
English, Filipino and the Cebuano dialect.

When did you become a vegetarian?
During the last quarter of 2008.

Why did you give up meat?
Numerous reasons, with health and my love for animals being at the top of the list. I think everyone should go veg or at least lessen their intake of meat. It's good for our bodies and good for the earth.

Here's a short list of myths linked to veganism (vegetarianism isn't entirely the same but veganism is supposed to be my ultimate goal). It's a quick way to familiarize yourself with the lifestyle...
